Terms of service

These terms apply to new consumer purchases from UVB Therapy Ltd through uvbtherapy.co.uk or by telephone. A consumer buys wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Please contact us before ordering for business use so any appropriate terms can be agreed; these terms do not remove rights you hold as a consumer.

UVB Therapy Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 17144023, with registered office at 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. You must be at least 18 and legally capable of making the purchase, or act through an appropriate adult representative. Do not use the website for unlawful activity, interfere with its security or misuse other people's information.

Equipment descriptions

The product page and any written quotation identify the unit, whether it is new or secondhand, its main specification, included accessories, price and relevant condition. For used equipment, we describe material wear and known defects. Illustrations will be identified where they do not show the actual item.

We are responsible for supplying goods that meet the contract. We will not substitute a materially different model or specification without your agreement. If information affecting an order is wrong, we will explain the correction and your options before proceeding.

Orders and payment

Please check the specification, delivery address and full price before ordering. Placing an order is an offer to buy. An automated receipt acknowledges that we have received it. The contract is formed when we expressly accept the order in writing or dispatch it, whichever happens first.

We may be unable to accept an order because stock is unavailable, delivery cannot be arranged, payment cannot be authorised or there is a genuine pricing error or reasonable fraud concern. We will explain the issue and refund any payment taken for an order we do not accept. We will not increase an accepted price or replace the agreed goods without your agreement.

Prices are in pounds sterling. Any VAT payable, delivery and agreed additional charges are included in the total shown before you commit. Delivery is charged separately unless your specific written quotation expressly states otherwise. Payment is due in full before dispatch unless we agree a different arrangement in writing. Any deposit remains subject to your cancellation and other statutory rights.

VAT relief

Qualifying goods supplied to an eligible person for personal or domestic use can qualify for 0% VAT under the applicable relief. Both the product and the circumstances of the supply must meet the requirements. Our VAT Relief Policy explains the declaration process. A VAT-relief declaration is not a clinical prescription or confirmation that the equipment is suitable for you.

We will explain the applicable tax treatment before accepting the order. If eligibility cannot be established, we will explain the price and options rather than apply an unagreed extra charge. Any later correction must be handled lawfully; it does not permit us to debit your payment method without authorisation.

Delivery and installation

Our Shipping and Delivery Policy forms part of these terms. Charges, the agreed delivery period and any installation or handover service will be confirmed before purchase. Assembly and installation are included when our team delivers a 5, 9 or 24 lamp unit. The compact 2 lamp unit is delivered by DPD for customer assembly by screwing the lamp head onto the stand. Delivery does not include electrical work or a clinical consultation.

Unless another period is agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days after the contract is made. If there is a delay, we will contact you and explain your options. Legal rights to set a reasonable further deadline or cancel, including where an essential agreed date is missed, remain available.

Where we arrange delivery, the goods remain at our risk until you or a person you nominate takes physical possession. Signing for delivery does not remove rights relating to damage, description or quality. A separate rule may apply if you independently appoint a carrier that we did not offer.

Cancellation returns and warranty

Our Return and Refund Policy forms part of these terms. Eligible online and telephone purchases have a cancellation period ending 14 days after the day of receipt, with a further 14 days to return the goods after cancellation, subject to the applicable rules. Standard units made after an order is placed are not automatically exempt.

We provide the 12-month equipment warranty described in that policy. It is additional to your statutory rights. There is no separate satisfaction or treatment-results money-back guarantee. Any manufacturer support is additional to our responsibilities as your seller.

Equipment use and clinical advice

We supply equipment and operating information. We do not provide diagnosis, prescribe an individual treatment course or replace a dermatologist or phototherapy team's advice. Obtain appropriate clinical advice about suitability, exposure settings, medicines and monitoring before use.

Use the unit only for its documented intended purpose and follow the supplied operating and safety instructions. Use appropriate protective equipment, keep others away from exposure and stop using equipment that may be unsafe. Do not bypass controls or make unauthorised alterations.

Individual outcomes vary and we do not promise a particular result. This does not qualify an express product description or remove our responsibility for faulty equipment, unsafe instructions or negligence.

Our responsibility for loss or damage

If we breach the contract or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result. Loss is foreseeable where it is an obvious consequence or where both parties knew it might happen when the contract was made.

We are not responsible for loss caused solely by misuse, unauthorised modifications or failure to follow appropriate instructions, to the extent it is not caused by our own breach, negligence or a product defect. These consumer terms concern personal purchases; we do not accept liability for business losses arising from business use of goods purchased on that basis.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, defective-product liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or any other liability or statutory right that the law protects.

Website content and privacy

Website materials belong to us or the relevant rights holder. You may use and keep copies for your own shopping and equipment reference. Commercial reuse requires permission unless otherwise permitted by law. Third-party links are provided for information and do not make us responsible for the third party's services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is used. Agreeing to these terms does not itself provide consent to marketing, optional tracking or sensitive-data processing.

Complaints and applicable law

Email info@uvbtherapy.co.uk with your order reference and the issue. We will investigate and explain the proposed response. If a consumer complaint cannot be resolved, we will provide information about relevant alternative dispute resolution and whether we will participate where required by law. You retain the right to use the courts.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, this does not remove mandatory consumer protections applying where you live. Consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their home courts where entitled to do so.

Changes and existing orders

The terms agreed when your order was accepted govern that order. Later website changes apply to future orders and do not retrospectively reduce your rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue so far as the law permits.
